The Best YouTube Channel for At-Home Yoga
By: Rylee Dahl
Throughout the years, I’ve been interested in yoga and its magical ways to not only tone the body but the mind as well.
I even read a Depak Chopra book to understand the intentions and results of yoga. It seems like a religious, simplified way of life.
Yoga is all about rooting your energy back into nature and finding balance physically and mentally. Despite its simplicity, it can often be difficult to find an outlet to practice.
I always thought that the proper way to join yoga was through a class because group settings are more encouraging than practicing alone, where no one holds you accountable.
I finally realized how absurd it was to deny myself the practice and decided to search YouTube for yoga tutorials I could do from home.

That’s when I landed on Yoga with Adriene, a channel run by Adriene Mishler out of Austin, Texas whose method relies on the motto “find what feels good.”
What’s very helpful about her videos is her thirty-day challenge that allows you to gradually ease into the workout without feeling in over your head or defeated in your capability.
Adriene’s process focuses on building a stable foundation while being introduced to the flow and mindset found in all yoga practices. Her energy is uplifting and supportive, all the while being available on a free platform.
Yoga classes can be expensive but finding peace, as well as toning the body, shouldn’t have a price. It’s nice to have community but if it’s something that tugs at your pockets, then the alternative is an equally viable option.
Laying your mat out in the space of your own home and following along to a video is just as effective.
