Meet the Founder of D.lynn, an Effortlessly Chic Jewelry Brand
By: Olivia Marrone
Modern minimalism is an aesthetic that has been on the rise in recent years. From fashion and jewelry to interiors and art, for many people, sleek lines and neutral color palettes have taken precedence compared to bold and vibrant designs.
Established in 2020, D.lynn is a jewelry brand with a fresh take on the modern minimalist aesthetic, utilizing wave-inspired rings and their newly launched earrings to add a chic touch to any outfit. I chatted with D.lynn’s founder, Deanna Klyczek, to learn more about her inspiration behind the jewelry, her favorite ways to stack her rings, and what’s next for the brand.

What was the inspiration behind founding D.lynn, and what made you want to center the business around jewelry?
I’ve always loved jewelry, design, and fashion since I was young. I worked in the fashion styling industry for years after college, but it wasn’t making me happy anymore, so I decided to start my own jewelry business two years ago. It has always been a passion of mine. The company name, D.lynn, comes from my first initial and my middle name Lynn.
Why did you decide to create rings first?
I think out of all the different jewelry categories, I’m drawn to rings first and they are the most fun to design!

Can you describe your design process and the inspiration behind your unique wave design?
My inspiration has always been the ocean waves and the sun’s reflection on the water. As someone with anxiety, I always think of ocean waves for a sense of calmness and that really inspired me. I wanted these wave designs to empower my customers to feel confident, effortless, and calm when wearing their pieces. I also work with a CAD designer and manufacturing team to help bring my designs to life.
Along with the jewelry itself, D.lynn’s branding is minimalistic, chic, and high-end. How did you decide on the branding direction of your business?
It is very much my style. I am very drawn to minimalistic design in fashion, jewelry, and interior. I wanted to keep it all very simple and effortless.
D.lynn’s Instagram feed is so beautifully curated, what is your content curation process like?

Thank you, that means a lot. I work really hard to make it look cohesive and flow nicely. I plan out my posts in advance on an app to make sure the images look good together. Having good lighting and similar colors is definitely key.
I play every role for my brand, so I am always working on every detail of the business and the images are one of the most important to me.
In addition to rings, you recently launched earrings! Can you tell us a bit about them?
We just launched earrings on May 3rd! They are the same wave shape as the rings and are inspired by the sun’s reflection on the water. There are two different sizes in the hoops, made in 925 sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil plating with white cubic zirconia gemstones.
What is your favorite part about founding D.lynn?
That I am doing what I love every day and seeing it come to life. It is my true passion and what I am meant to be doing. I love photography and design, so I’m glad I get to combine the two for my brand.

Who is someone you would love to see wearing D.lynn?
My dream muses would be Hailey Beiber, Rihanna, and Zoe Kravitz. They just have the BEST style. Very minimalistic (well maybe not Riri haha), chic, effortless, and cool girl.
What is your favorite way to wear the rings?
I love wearing them stacked together. I love the look of three rings together. Either all of the Calm bands together or wearing the Reflection band in the middle of the two Calm bands. They are the same shape, so you can play with them and rotate them around to fit in together perfectly.
Can you share any future plans for D.lynn?
I have so many ideas that I want to do all at once but have to remind myself to slow down and take my time. I do have a couple of pieces that will be coming sometime this summer. It will be a thicker hammered ring and earring. I also plan to do necklaces and bracelets in the future.
