How to Plan the Perfect Galentine’s Day
By: Anna Los
We’ve (finally) reached February. This month comes with a long list of holidays that all deserve to be celebrated for one reason or another, however, the one we’re looking forward to the most is Galentine’s Day. What better way to take a break from the winter weather than to cozy up with your besties and celebrate. We’ve collected all the necessary details to help you throw a Galentine’s Day that would be Leslie Knope approved!
When celebrating Galentine’s Day, we recommend going old school and sending out cards. They’re a lot more fun than texts, and they add something a little special to the day.
If your friends live far away, just send them a sweet note along with a Galentine’s Day card. If your friends live close, the card can double as an invite for a dinner or party. Really, that’s what Galentine’s Day is all about – spending time with and celebrating the ladies who are important in your life.
Is there anything more important than food when it comes to event planning? Of course not. First, decide on the formality of your event – Galentine’s Day can be as formal or as informal as you want it to be. Maybe you’ll go out for dinner or host it at your home.
If you’re going the home hosting route, try out a few new recipes from Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings. It has all kinds of recipes that are sure to please everyone. Plus, it seems like Teigen has hosting in mind when she makes most of her recipes, which means they’re perfect for your Galentine’s Day dinner.
Depending on where you decide to host your Galentine’s Day will obviously influence how much or what kind of decor you use. If you’re hosting a get-together at your home incorporate some cute cups and plates.
Even if you go out, you can bring some napkins and balloons along. While decor definitely isn’t the most important part of Galentine’s Day, it is fun and can really add to the atmosphere. If you really want to get into the spirit, try a banner or other large decoration.
Gifts don’t need to be elaborate; they just need to be heartfelt. You can go all out and get your galentines cute jewelry or a gift card to their favorite coffee places. For something from the heart, write each of your besties a letter about why they’re so special.
You can make a note extra special by writing it on colorful paper, using stickers, and even spritzing it with your favorite scent! Ultimately you know your friends best, so go with your gut and trust your instincts when it comes to finding the perfect gifts for Galentine’s Day.
