By: Lauryn Jiles
With videos of Chinese street style going viral on social media platforms, it’s no question that fashion reigns supreme in China. Photographers have long been flocking to cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu to shoot street-style photos of uber-cool Asian trendsetters.
This paparazzi-like trend started in 2016 when one of China’s most well-known celebrities, Yang Mi, had photographers shooting her street-style photos. With popular social media platforms like Tik Tok, many street photographers and videographers have been using the app to gain recognition for their work by shooting videos of people effortlessly strutting down the streets of China.
