A Day In The Life Attending New York Fashion Week
By: Madison Arend
Fashion week is the busiest time of year no matter what part of the industry you work in. I currently hold a position in the public relations department at Tiffany & Co. This is my first fashion week working for a jewelry-specific company. While Tiffany’s does not have a runway show, we are busy securing press for our many projects and campaigns coming up. Some of our latest projects include making the Vince Lombardi SuperBowl trophy, dressing stars like Kendrick Lamar for the halftime show, and lighting the Empire State Building Tiffany Blue with Sarah Jessica Parker.
Working in public relations means we are the ones who loan products to celebrities and influencers to wear as well as secure editorial coverage in magazines. With many weeks of hard work to ensure events run smoothly, fashion week is not as glamorous for corporate employees as it is for influencers (although it does have its perks).
Come along with me to see a typical day in my busy NYC fashion life!

8:30 am
Coffee in hand, I’m on my way into the office. I started the day with team meetings about upcoming campaigns and projects.

11:30 am
On my way uptown to a Town & Country Magazine shoot.

12:00 pm
Arrived at Hearst studios to shoot still-life content for their April issue. My placement of the jewelry ended up being the winning shot. Woohoo!

1:00 pm
Just a bathroom fit check!

3:30 pm
Back into the office to finish up the workday.

5:30 pm
Made a quick change into this Nanushka top for tonight’s event.

7:00 pm
Arrived at Spring Studios for Asia Fashion Collection‘s runway show. This show showcased many different Asian designers, Glenda Garcia being my favorite. Special thanks to Madame Blue for having me.

8:00 pm
That’s a wrap! Until next season. Thank you for following me through a day at NYFW!
