8 Fall Trends for 2022, and How to Style Them
By: Tajiya Holland
Fall features a change in the air and a shift in our wardrobes. The cold air with a spiced latte in hand makes sweaters and layers more enticing to wear! Cozied up in sweats on the couch sounds ideal, but there’s always the option to experiment with your outfits.
To welcome the new season, we’re exploring eight fall fashion trends that all the cool girls are wearing right now. Whether you’re looking to transform your workwear, loungewear, going-out looks, or simply want to change things up, here are eight ways to spice up your style for fall.
Leather
Leather is stylish year-round, but it doesn’t have to be mundane this season. Relaxed-fit leather pants embody the comfort of fall fashion. Pair them with a turtleneck and blazer for a modern take on a vintage fit. Be playful and colorful with a colorful leather vest, like the hot pink ensemble below, or make a statement for a special occasion with a high-shine belted coat.

Loafers
Typically seen as a formal attire staple, loafers are making a comeback to be styled however you please! Elevate your jeans and t-shirt with a pair of black buckled loafers. The loungewear you only wear at home can suddenly appear sophisticated when worn with loafers and a handbag. For a fun and flirty outfit, wear a heeled loafer with lettuce hem socks, a mini skirt, and a collared shirt under a crewneck.

Metallic Silver
Metallic silver accessories are incredibly eye-catching and can carry your looks to new heights! A soft, muted brown trench coat with a silver tote and silver pointed pumps creates a chic, yet subtly bold outfit. Pair silver accessories with patterned trousers for a playful look, like the polka-dotted attire below. Too cool to play with color? Dress monochromatically from head to toe in white and silver.

Soft Handbags
Fall is all about comfort, so dress the part with a soft-to-the-touch handbag. For a preppy fit, grab a chocolate suede shoulder bag with your plaid skirt, cable knit sweater, and mules. Wearing solids will make a bright, mini fur handbag stand out. Love the look and feel of a shearling coat? Have a shearling clutch at your side to match and exude warmth.

Maxi Denim Skirt
Trade in your micro miniskirts for ones that reach the floor! Embody classic style with a black-and-white color palette. A solid t-shirt and sneakers are great for an effortless maxi skirt moment, while a high middle slit skirt and metallic, heeled boots will ensure that you stand out wherever you go.

Boston Clog Birkenstock
The Boston clog is known for its ultimate comfort that practically molds to your feet. What says fall more than a chunky sweater, thick scarf, baggy jeans, and these cozy shoes? A great go-to outfit for running errands if we do say so ourselves. You can also wear these with your business casual jeans and a blazer on weekdays, or pair them with button-ups and a felt coat for a more dressed-up look.

Moto Jacket
Form-fitting jackets are out, and oversized moto jackets are everywhere. Love to wear a tank and briefs indoors? Instead of grabbing a hoodie, wear an oversized moto jacket to run out. For a girly approach, wear a pastel moto jacket over a turtle neck, a mini skirt, and knee-high boots. This jacket also looks incredible over tight, black lace dresses for a feminine rocker vibe.

Cargo Pants
Achieve a sexy yet sporty look by pairing cargo pants with a corset, sneakers, and a baseball cap. For a cool girl look, take a page from Emrata’s book by pairing your cargos with a black cropped turtle neck, coat, and sunglasses. If you’re a lover of bright colors in autumn, grab these in bright pink for a color-block outfit.
