6 Ways to Refresh Your Life for Spring
By: Mystique Myrthil
The sun is staying out longer, the birds are chirping, and we’re ready to give a warm welcome to spring. Arguably one of the best parts of spring is the transitional period when we all get ready to embrace the new season and push the refresh button. While this might signal exciting changes like a new wardrobe or a fresh haircut, this also means the less glamorous task of spring cleaning.
However, spring cleaning shouldn’t only consist of dusting and mopping, there are several simple tasks you can do to get your life more organized and fresh. Here are six ways to refresh your life for spring that will help welcome the new season feeling your absolute best.
Declutter your phone

In this age of technology, our cellphones are an extension of who we are. So, what does your phone say about you? Is it crowded with apps you rarely use and photos you don’t look at anymore? If so—it’s time to declutter. Take a few minutes to organize your home screen and get rid of all unused apps.
Do the same for your photos. Upload everything to your iCloud or Google Photos to free up space on your phone. If you want to go the extra mile, print out your favorite photos and create a photo album! This will allow you to look back at the memories whenever you want in a more meaningful way.
Get outside and move your body

The warmer weather is the perfect opportunity to develop healthier habits. Implementing a daily walk into your routine can not only help you get more Vitamin D and exercise, but also create more time to listen to podcasts, audiobooks, or chat with a walking companion. Studies show that simply being outside can lead to significant health benefits like reduced stress and improved focus.
Organize your junk drawer

We get it—junk drawers are called that for a reason. However, you should be able to find what you’re looking for without any hassle. To help make your daily searches easier, consider clearing out clutter or investing in small organizing bins. This can help you remember where things are and prevent you from digging through old coupons, batteries, or dusty coins.
Cleanse your social media feed

Most people spend hours each day scrolling through social media. This can often become repetitive and unenjoyable. Cleansing your social media feed is a great way to freshen up the content you’re taking in and unfollow accounts that no longer inspire you or bring you joy. This spring, be intentional about the accounts you follow so that everything you see only adds value to your time spent online. And when you’re ready to put the phone down and sit outside with a good book, here are some books we highly recommend.
Bring on the bright colors

A new season means new colors, and what better way to welcome spring into your life with a new color palette? Bringing brighter colors to your wardrobe is a no-brainer, but we encourage you to change up the color scheme of your home with bedsheets, pillows, and throws. Adding in cool-toned pastels and plenty of green plants will help put you and your home in a better mood.
Try something new

Unlike the start of a new year, spring comes as a time to start fresh without the pressure of sticking to resolutions. This makes the season a great opportunity to have fun trying new things. Whether you want to start a new hobby, cook new recipes, or try a new workout class like boxing or pilates, now is the time to do so with no pressure and plenty of fun.
By incorporating these tips into your spring checklist, you can embrace the season as a fresh start and organize your surroundings so that you can feel your best every day.
