5 Low-Maintenance Houseplants You Probably Won’t Kill
By: Colleen McCaffrey
I think everyone can agree–a pop of greenery adds so much to a room. While faux plants are always an option, there is nothing like the real thing. Even if you do not have a green thumb, there are several low-maintenance houseplant options out there for you. Here are five easy-to-care-for houseplants that everyone needs in their lives.

Air Plant
First off, we have the Air Plant. This plant only requires a good soaking of water every other week or two. Otherwise, these babies are pretty independent. Plus, they look cool and provide the perfect pop of foliage that will fit that minimalist aesthetic everyone loves.

Peace Lily
The Peace Lily is elegant, classic, and a real show-stopper. Peace Lilys purify the air and they only need to be watered when their potting soil is completely dry, making it a great option for beginner plant parents.

Fiddle Leaf Fig
The Fiddle Leaf Fig is a social media superstar, and for good reason. This plant is beautiful and only needs to be watered about once a week.

Jade Plant
Another low-maintenance indoor plant option is a Jade Plant. Similar to a succulent, Jade plants love the sunshine and only need to be watered about once a month! When taken care of properly, these can last for years. They have a smooth, waxy texture to them. I tend to dust mine off every once in a while with a wet towel and they’re happy as can be!

Snake Plant
Finally, we have the Snake Plant. Like the Peace Lily, these are also air-purifying plants and require minimal water. They can survive in low light but thrive in brightly lit environments.
